My senior hockey season just got shut down. The playoffs start tomorrow and we had a really good chance to win it all this year. We play at an outdoor rink while wearing masks but the protocols suck so one kid tested positive and just like that we're quarantined and aren't out until the season is already over. This is what happens when your governor decides to pack 3 seasons into 2 months because he's too busy covering up nursing home deaths.
I busted my ass all 2020 going through shoulder surgeries in Feb and Sept. I'm finally healthy and this happens. I played my last game on Sunday and had no idea. I'm not looking for pity or sorrys, I just needed to vent because I can't do anything else at the moment.
It's really a shame because sports make up less than 1% of covid transmission. Especially a sport like Hockey where you aren't next to one person for more than 1 second at a time, especially at an outdoor rink. Postponing sports did more harm than good. Can't wrap my head around the stupidity of these so-called health experts.
