I love fall. Today in Michigan, the weather is in full-on fall mode and I couldn't be happier. Perfect football weather.
This weather reminds me what I am here for. This is the time of year when I get sidetracked from the overall purpose of things because I'm always so busy. I feel like I do these a lot but, hey, everyone deserves to be told they're appreciated. I truly love what I do. I love running this site, I love working for you all, I love our team and I love the direction we are headed.
It was rough at the start, not going to lie. To come in and take over an iconic website in our market isn't an easy task. It was basically like forcing this brand new thing on people who have been used to something for so long. It took a while to gain your trust, we've suffered our losses, and we've taken our bumps whether it's here or elsewhere. I was terrified. I had no idea what I was doing but we are learning and growing together. I feel like a totally different man than I was on November 1, 2021. But, you know what? We've pushed through. I truly feel like we belong and it's always been a dream of mine to be involved in the Michigan community and I feel like we are well on our way. We are crushing page view numbers, beyond what I originally expected them to be. Our social media is growing, Dennis' podcast is gaining huge traction in downloads as well. I am just so damn proud. We have all worked so hard to put our vision into some tangible.
So, for those who are reading this, thank you. If these ever get annoying, please tell me to tone it down and I will. But I will never stop being passionate about this site, putting the community first and developing what we have planned here. It's a slow burn, things are not going to be done overnight.
Our community is growing. I understand the biggest gripe is that our message board is slower than others. I understand. We are a work in progress. When the community grows, we'll grow. I want people to feel comfortable posting their opinions. The lurkers don't need to lurk. Opinions are welcomed here.
Let's get ready for Big Ten play in a major way.
