I really think this year's team could benefit greatly if they are invited to the NIT. I realize many may not care, but this very young team can improve from the additional practice and of course the competition in the NIT.
I know some on here stated the NIT does not benefit or help to improve teams, citing Minnesota's NIT Championship from last year, however every team is built differently. As I mention this team is very young and being able to play together a little longer can only help the younger players at this point.
I know the players and coaches will be pumped if they are invited. I will be rooting like hell for a NIT Championship.
