The top ground gainer has won 42 of the last 46 matchups between Michigan and Michigan State.*

I think your ratio will be skewed. Michigan is running 47 times per game. passing 29 times per game. The mismatch seems to be M receivers vs. MSU secondary. Not saying its gonna be Air Harbaugh but I still see 25-30 passing attempts.

Unless Sparty gets something done on the defensive line, I expect UM to pound away mercilessly on the ground. My 70% prediction seems right, but Harbaugh also doesn't hesitate to pass when defenses stack the line, so you might be correct. It's just the running game has a lot of momentum going into this and Sparty's run D is suspect.

I disagree with how the game will play out this year. MSU's success over the past 7 years has been in daring us to throw. I expect that they will stack the line and dare us to throw again with a first time QB in his first true road test (Rutgers was more like a HS game and even there he was pretty unspectacular). I think this game will sit on Speight's shoulder and the ability of our O-line to give him some time. Slants and quick throws to the TE will be open for us to chew up the MSU defense.

I expect that you will see some short routes from Butt, Chesson, and Darboh and we will likely see a lot of McDoom. I also expect that in the beginning of the game we will likely feature Peppers a lot because with him in there, regardless of how much they stack the line - they have to pay attention to him.

Don't worry, Harbaugh and crew will have plenty of new stuff. They have shown that against freaking Illinois last week.

It's going to be fun.
