I have to say Cook is one heck of a QB and their offense has been on fire this year. I look at their offensive line with the protection they provide, their WRs that go for every ball, etc and I envy them. There are few players in college football that I can't wait to see leave opposing schools and I am really glad we never have to play Cook ever again! MSU will regress quite a bit next year - I don't see any scenario where they win 10 games next year without Jack Allen, Calhoun, Cook, Kings Jr., and Arnett. I would not be shocked if Conklin left as well to the NFL. If somehow with all these departures Dantonio finds success with this team - man hats off to him.

Either way, glad lady luck was not on MSU's side today especially since it now means that Michigan's chances of a BIG game berth are drastically higher. We still have to get past Indiana and Penn State (both games on the road) and Ohio State has to beat MSU. I am still not sure about the Buckeyes. Michigan State will be able to score against them and OSU has not shown consistency in scoring this year at all.

I don't think you have much to worry about us beating OSU. We won't with this defense. The best we can hope for is we grind out long drives that keeps our defense off the field. Big mistake was not letting Cook throw for 1st downs on the last drive. Why do coaches do that? They worry more about time than distance. It's war, man. War! The 1st rule in war is to keep moving! My team deserved their fate. They stopped dancing with the one that brung them.
I believe your defense can keep OSU off the board, but can you score 28 points against them? If you do you'll win.
Indiana might be your bigger test. PSU is awful IMHO.
I think Iowa is better than we all think. Their offense is plenty good enough. If you get to the B1G Championship game....again....can you score enough points. If Oklahoma State or Baylor goes undefeated and OSU and Iowa end up losing 1 game I'm predicting the Final Four to be Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and the undefeated Big12 team. The B1G and Pac12 will be out.
Anybody but Meyer.....got it?

MSU can score with the best of them - I actually think you guys will be just fine. Remember you were able to move the ball fairly well against the best defense you faced all year - us. Granted it was only 21 points but you were able to move the ball. OSU likes to run and I think that plays to MSU's strength. I think that game will be closer then most think.

As for us playing IU next week - I think we will beat them. It will be a close game but I think our defense will shore up enough to disrupt them. They are a timing team and if we disrupt their timing, they won't do much. PSU will be tough - blackout game - and that place is tough to play in regardless. As for OSU - we can easily beat them, whether we do or not is a whole different story. Michigan can beat any team in the country this year, there is no question in my mind. We were 10 seconds away from beating MSU and a we outplayed Utah all game long. To beat teams like OSU you have to play for 60 minutes and if we can do that, I think we can beat them. I think Michigan will be able to put up points on OSU, however the running QBs that they have and the speed of folks like Braxton etc will be concerning to me because that will be the real first spread team we will face all year long.

As for the playoffs - long ways to go. I don't think ND gets past Stanford however. Right now it looks like Alabama & Clemson are shoe-ins for the playoffs. BIG 12 still has plenty of games left and they can all beat each other up. BIG will have a tough time getting to the playoffs with teams having 1 loss.

As said awhile back...UM is good enough to beat everyone (maybe even OSU now at home) and lose to almost anyone in conference (especially IU and PSU...road).

So it's a game by game grind. I think OSU is the best team but they are up and down. I see 4 teams that all reasonably have a chance at the BT title.
