One of my old professors from Mott is a rabid Sparty with season tickets and all. Bleeds green and white all the live long day. I saw him last week and he gave me this BS about how he had accepted his fate and that MSU wasn't any good this year, but that he was okay because he had his B1G title and his CFP berth already. If MSU lost the game it was no big deal, he said. If Michigan lost the game though, it would hurt us badly and we'd implode, he said.
I laughed it off and said there was no way because as much as it would suck, it was only one game and there are bigger fish to fry. Turns out he was dead right. This one loss has torpedoed this fan base into oblivion where even the most rational and seasoned of us are completely gobsmacked today.
I hate admitting when Sparties are right about our fan base and its extreme behavior. Thank you for that.
