I'd like to hear people's thoughts about defensive players who are getting their first bit of playing time this year. The reason why there were so many doubts and question marks about this team is that we had a lot of players on the roster who had not played much, if at all. So we didn't know what the had talent wise.

We also knew that the 2018 class was the worst of the six Harbaugh recruiting classes. And the 2018 class, having been here four years, was going to be the most important for the success of the season. There were only 7 four stars in that class and most of them are long gone: Milton, Mayfield, McGrone, Muhammad, and Sims. But Huchinson is a star and Green is a starter. So two four star starters from the entire 2018 class. Our current "senior" class. There are other solid players who were three stars, like Haskins, Hays and Gray, but 2018 was a small class and when you look at it, and what is left of it, there is not a lot of meat on that bone.

The 2019 class was ranked much higher at #10, and was much larger at 26 players, but it's a group who were redshirt freshmen and true sophomores on a bad defense in 2020.

So there are a lot of young guys playing and I want to see who you all think is showing good talent. Who is surprising you in a good way? Which young players on defense are you excited about based upon their play in the early part of the season? Junior Colson, for example, is playing in part because of the mass exodus of LBs over the past 18 months, but he looks pretty good. I have less of a sense of the talent of guys like Moten, Page, and DJ Turner.
