The next two classes project to be small, I think they'll be recruited as one big class

We don't have a lot of loss to graduation over the next two years and even if all of the questionables move on we will still only project to 35 or 40 scholarships over the next two years after taking 56 in the last 2 classes.

We are very early in the 2018 process, and since the classes are smaller I think we will be VERY selective.

Here's how I project the recruiting needs for the next 2 classes...

QB..(2-3)We currently have 5 and probably will lose Malzone and O'Korn. Next year we lose Speight. In a perfect world I'd like 4-5 QBs every year. I think we are DTR or bust in 18 and could end up with 2 in 19 with Johnson Jr, JT Daniels, and Luke McAffrey the early offers. McAffrey could also play WR or S, btw.

RB...(2-3)We have 7 but lose Isaac and possibly Davis this year and Higdon next. I'm fairly comfortable with Evans, Walker, and Samuels in the future but we will add a runner per year. If we get lucky with 2 in 2018 we might take them. TJ Pledger and Jaelen Gill are probably the focus of 18 and there are 5 offers out for the 19 class.

TE/FB/HB...(4-6) This position could be in major flux all of a sudden. We passed on the 17 class unless you count Mason (which I do). Current numbers are 9 including Asiasi, Gentry (WR?), and Mason. We will lose Hill, Poggi, Bunting and possibly Wheatley (pro) in the next two years. That means McKeon and Eubanks could potentially need a ton of help with 2-3 prospects this year and next. I count Mallory here and we are pursuing Jeremy Ruckert, Blevin Jordan, and Mustapha Muhammed in 18. Isaiah Foskey, an athlete, is the first 2019 guy to get an offer here.

OL...(6-8) We are already a little short on numbers here (14) and five of those guys might be done before the year is over. We have Ekiyor so far and low hanging in-state fruit at C, G, and T with Sampson (no offer), McCall (grades?) and Reed (back in Muskegon after going to IMG for a bit last season). There are a dozen other offers out for 2018 OL. In 2019 there are 6 OL offers and they're also very close with DaVontae Dobbs, Logan Brown, Nolan Rumler and Quinn Carroll all from the Midwest.

WR...(2-3) Back-to-back outstanding classes makes this position a luxury the next 2 seasons. We will lose Harris, Ways, and Perry by next season, but we are over budgeted at the position with 11 or 12 currently on the roster. There are lots of offers out, but we can be very picky and maybe even skip WR this year.

DL...(4-6) We are a little fat on DL after signing 8 this year. We will lose Hurst, Mone, Winovich, Marshall, and possibly Gary (pro). There could also be some movement to the OL. It's gonna be very competitive here, too. We can be selective but I think Hutchinson will be included (though, I suppose he could play some TE at his size).

LB...(4-6) I count Furbush, Uche, and Singleton as SAMs, Metellus, Glasgow, and Hudson as Vipers (LB/S hybrid). McCray, Bush, Mbem-Bosse, Gil, Anthony and Ross are inside guys. We will lose McCray and Furbush over two years. Reese is a strong get at Viper for 18. Dallas Gant and Kolin Demens have connections to the program.

DB...(6-8) We are a little light here, especially if JKP, Hudson, Metellus, and Glasgow end up closer to the line of scrimmage. Ideally we'd have 12-14 safeties and corners, currently we have 9ish and we will lose Kinnell, Watson and possibly Washington over 2 years. We may desperately need Safeties unless Washington or St-Juste slide to FS with their length. There are lots of offers out, but I have no clue what the pecking order is.
