...mean as much to Michigan as it does to MSU. MSU wants to beat Michigan for bragging rights while Michigan wants to beat MSU to prevent MSU from said bragging rights (i.e. NC State's rivalry with UNC). That's how it is and that's how it always will be.
That said, most of us can agree that we thought Michigan's anemic offense was bound to lose them a game. While it sucks that the loss came against MSU, I don't believe that this loss hurts any more than a loss to any Big Ten team not named Ohio State because ultimately, this rivalry doesn't mean as much to Michigan.
