The best article I have read on THE issue. Well done and will make

JH won too quickly. Now he's the most written/talked about HC in America. More than Saban, more than Dantonio. So he's being piled on when things go South. How about the reporters writing about the UM decommitments who weren't "forced out"? Haven't seen much about that, have you?

Bottom line is Jim is use to evaluating players like he did in the NFL and will cut a player in favor of a more talented player. Not saying it's right or wrong. I'm willing to wait and hear his side of story next week.

Who says "things are going south"? The Jack Hammer is nailing it, I couldn't be happier!

That's a good article. JH could have done better, but his errs are correctable. Move on, do better going forward.

And "doing better going forward" --- the recruiting process, there are opportunities for improvement. These three are no-brainers:

(1) Standardized rules for EVERY conference. The B1G has one set of rules on out-of-region camps, the SEC has another. The SEC has one set of rules on transfers, the B1G has another. What the hell? We're all under the D-1 NCAA umbrella, standardize things!

(2) Early signing day. No-brainer. Freaking basketball does this, and they are really a circus with all the AAU teams and such.

(3) Early signings become void if/when a team fires their coach (or the coach leaves). It's off the radar, but did you see what happened at Southern Miss the other day? Their coach JUST left for a job with Tampa Bay (NFL). Horrible horrible timing.

I agree totally with this. Other B1G schools may be thanking Harbaugh for pushing the satellite camps. Now the B1G has some leverage to get rid of the SEC's oversigning advantages when the satellite camp thing comes up. Each conference can now give up a little to make the rules uniform.

That's a terrific insight and right on. He competitive to the nth degree and doesn't stop competing until he gets the players that will prosper this program. I actually love that attitude and, with "commitments" to a school being totally fluid on the players' side, totally warranted.
