No one on the staff or the team panicked. They stuck to the gameplan on offense knowing that the defense was shutting Northwestern down. We didn't start slinging the ball all over the place because there was plenty of time to score 17+ points in the second half We continued to pound the rock to set up the play-action. Then we set up the Higdon touchdown and the Shea run for first down with our sequencing. It was textbook Michigan executed with poise unknown in most other CFB programs.

Northwestern gave us their very best shot, motivated by the desire to win one for Jeremy Larkin. They had their stadium rocking and we didn't start the game on time. We had to overcome not only the deficit but the officials as well, and many other highly-rated teams would have crumbled under the same circumstances.

I was extremely proud to be a Michigan man last evening.
