What a game yesterday
It got me thinking of when I have felt this way before
I have been a fan since 1970 (I turn 60 this month)
Yesterday, we all anticipated a great game, when M would show the college football world they were an absolute force
And they delivered
When has this happened before? When M was an outstanding team, and then went out and dominated another team who was considered its equal or superior
1976 at Ohio State- 22-0. Game was 0-0 at halftime , but an absolutely dominant 2nd half in Columbus
1977 Texas A & M- they were a top 5 team, had a massive running back (Woodard), and M smoked them on National TV, 41-3
1980 Purdue- 26-0- Shutting out a very good Purdue team with a record setting QB (Mark Hermann)- McCartney's monsters roll out an early nickel/dime defense
1985 South Carolina 34-3- went on the road and destroyed a ranked opponent on national TV- M started the year unranked after a 6-6 record in 1984
1985 Michigan State 31-0
avenging a loss in Ann Arbor the previous year, total domination
1997 Penn State 34-8
Judgement day, domination from the first snap
2006 ND 47-21
Again, dominated from the very beginning with a pick 6
Several similar games recently but not quite the same buildup- Beating Ranked Northwestern 38-0 in 2015, and PSU in 2016 (before they were well regarded)
Enjoy the ride!!!!!!!
