We win today because our defense gave us opportunities, and because of Shea Patterson improvising and getting first downs. I’m hoping that future opponents will have to limit some of the blitzing now that they’ve seen Shea’s ability to run.

Unfortunately, it looks like our running success was fool’s gold like last year against Maryland and Minnesota. I don’t put it all on the OL. Higdon does not have great vision. I almost think Tru would be better when we need to grind out yards.

We have to find a way to get DPJ the ball more. And Nico Collins’ physical abilities need to be utilized. I’d like to see us develop a quick passing game. And I don’t mean wide receiver screens. But a quick passing game could help Shea settle in a little earlier in games.
