This is my biggest pet peeve with the College Football championship determination process over the years. I remember when Nebraska was killed by Colorado 62-36 in the Big XII Championship Game in 2001, still made the BCS Championship Game, and predictably got killed by Miami. Same thing in 2004, when Oklahoma lost 31-7 to KSU in the Big XII Championship and still made the BCS and got crushed by USC. This year, ND gets crushed in their conference title game and still makes the playoff, where they will predictably get crushed by Bama.
People say the College Football season is one long playoff. Not true, because teams can make the playoffs without winning their conference or after losing in their conference championship, which should be an elimination game.
All of this goes away if they expand the playoff to 8 teams, give automatic bids to the P5 champions and allow three at-large bids (one to the best G5 team).
