Saw a first during Michigan vs Rutgers game last night, right before half Michigan punted and James took the ball back inside Michigan 20 but their was a flag up field for what appeared to be block in the back but was reported as targeting (defenseless player) and the play was under review. Referee came back overturning the call and Rutgers had the ball first and ten, This is where they lost me, first off the targeting flags I've seen this year and there have been plenty, were all personal fouls as well with the review determining if player was ejected, that was not the case last night. Secondly the replay clearly showed the Rutgers player DID NOT get his head in front of Michigan player so worst case should have been a block in the back. I've listened to many different announcers through the season and they seem to be just as confused as everyone else as to what is targeting.
