Why do our fans boo our own players?! I heard it yesterday and many other times going back to the Navarre era. Such a bad look. Embarrassing in front of recruits, parents of current players, other fan bases watching on national tv, and (hopefully) most importantly it should be embarrassing to the person you see in the mirror. Sat next to a guy and his 6yo son at the Florida game while he was full of "speight sucks, he's a loser, what a bum," as his young boy absorbed it all like a sponge. Took every ounce of restraint to not sink to his ignorant level and set him straight, man style.
These are kids. Pouring their hearts out on a field 6 days a week while trying to be students at one of the best schools in the nation. While you are curled up in your bed dreaming of puppy dogs and ice cream, these young men are running sprints, nursing injuries, reading class notes under a desk lamp, and just trying squeeze in a semblance of a normal/fun college experience. They owe you nothing, you childish buffoon. This is the sort of "fan" you are?! Booing the hard work of others, much less young men and teenagers?! On EITHER team! Character doesn't bleed blue or scarlett or burnt orange. Character and integrity are human qualities. Michigan men/women know and strive for such human qualities.
Sure, we have some things that need to be addressed, but most of us are grown ass adults... how stupid is it when a grown up yells at kids trying their hardest?! I'm willing to bet <1% of those booing have ever accomplished a fraction of what these athletes have in their short lives.
Stop it. Stop booing. Stop being uncivilized to other fort members. Stop being like o$u Neanderthals. Stop being entitled little shits when you haven't done squat relative to these remarkable young men.
And if you don't, just remember you aren't a Michigan Man/Woman. You aren't one of us.
