Staying in Ann Arbor Question

Odd timing for the question I know but was thinking of coming out for the Rutgers game at the end of October. Doing some research and wondering how essential it is to stay in Ann Arbor beforehand.

Right now have the Garden Inn booked but as it doesn't seem in walking distance to the stadium or downtown is it worth the premium? Would it be better to stay out of town (Hampton Inn Belleville) and drive in for dinner night before and again on game day to save the $400 or so?

Any help appreciated.

It is not worth the extra $ to stay out on Plymouth Rd or by the Mall. You are better off staying elsewhere and driving in for dinner and the game because you will be doing that anyway. Belleville is only about 20-30 mins depending on traffic and right on I94 and close to the airport. You'd be better off staying there.

Agreed I'm right Belleville, it's very accessible to and from Ann Arbor. Game day traffic is slower, but not egregiously so. Save your drachmas

I stayed at the Residences Inn about 10 minutes from the stadium but on gameday it cost $1.50 to shuttle to the game dropped at South side of the stadium. About an hour wait (depending on when you return to the bus) to ride home
