Amazing ending. We get that the departure was this alternate universe. Nora gets her answers, and she and Kevin make up and resolve this lifetime of regret they each have.
My question: if the physicist knew how to create the machine to go between universes, why didn't he immediately build another one to send everyone back?
Then, when he did build said machine for Nora, why didn't he then do that?
Is this just a hole in the story to ignore because everything else was so great? Maybe everyone in the alternate universe was cool where they were, but I gotta think they would want to get back to their families.
