The team they're really concerned with is just about to kick off, so they've got that.

Need to watch the game. The outcome was surprising to say the least. I don't know whether Wisconsin is great or MSU isn't that great but only thing I can say is when I watched Notre Dame play both Texas and MSU I was not impressed.

I saw some of the highlights. Looked like MSU had a very bad day with the turnovers. This was not a Dantonio like team performance. He is so good at not turning the ball over and creating turnovers so I wouldn't read too much into this game. MSU forgot to set the alarm clocks.

Again I say MSU is OVER RATED. Sloppy play, QB play is weak. They beat ND ...well look what happened to them today...Duke took them down...I think the Duke basketball team playe MSU today, I wasn't aware they actually had a football team.
What excuse do you Sparty Trollers have now? Sparty will lose to Michigan this year unless they get drastically better in the next couple weeks ( which is possible, but not probable)

Sparty has been severally overrated this year, while Wisconsin was underrated. Next weekend should be a good game. A better challenge then PSU.
ecrosswhite - I love your enthusiasm, but quite frankly we have yet to earn the right to talk down to MSU and OSU - they have been superior programs over the past 7-8 years. Now, we have a stud of a coach and talent that will allow us to compete. On paper we should beat MSU but you can chuck talent and ratings out the door in rivalry games. Think about how Hoke's team could have easily been 3-1 against OSU versus 1-3 despite a significant talent gap. I expect MSU to play really hard the next few games and be really prepared to play us. Their next 4 games are not gimmies but not exactly super tough either so they will have 4 weeks to work out their kinks.
I don't really care what MSU or Ohio State have done over the last few years... that's the past. If we are going into the past, let's go all the way back ...Michigan is still ahead in both all time series even with their recent success. In college, every year is different, a team can change completely over or lose critical parts like a QB or LT.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. MSU isn't as bad as they showed today (to's) and not as good as against ND.
UM will be playing their 2nd game on the road with basically a rookie qb and a mediocre running game against good teams...at best.
This one will be a dogfight. Don't sell Dantonio short. You talk about ND being bad well PSU isn't too good right now with the injuries that made UM look potent running the ball and a coach who makes Hoke look somewhat competent as a HC.
The best team UM has played is Colorado and special teams (Peppers) was the difference along with a qb injury.
As I mentioned in another post...UM is a very good team but not elite by any stretch of the imagination. Some flaws on this team. Point is that UM is beatable especially on the road. It may very well be the better team but on any given day...

You're not getting it. The past doesn't count when UM leads the all-time series by a huge margin, but it DOES count when the spartoons think football was invented in 2010.
I also love the whining how the first 197 games or so were all played at UM because sparty apparently didn't have a stadium or whatever. Or how the games before the 'toons joined the Big 10 magically don't count.
You're not very good at this "pick your window" technique, I have to tell you.
What Sparty thinks doesn't matter...the score after the game is all that counts. COLORADO thought they outhit Michigan in our game...what did the score say?
