I LOVE Michigan football. I LOVE sports. I feel the excitement building all week and it spiked just up to kickoff time. I'm 48 and sports is one of the few things that I get "giddy like a kid" excited about anymore, maybe opening day of Deer Season, plus I'm married to a great lady, so I'll keep this G rated.
But yeah, she still does it for me.
After a decade of mind blowing numbing seasons the "fun part" has taken a back seat a bit as we see our hated rivals having the success we'd hope for. PSU goes from disgustingly scandalous restrictions "not going to be relevant for a decade" to winning the Big Ten title minutes later. MSU was in the news for negative press all off season, and they beat us at home in Jim's 3rd year, and on a botched punt in the first meeting. Jim Tressel finally got exposed and they hire an even BETTER coach in Urban Lying Meyer. The dirty SEC scoops in and steals players that were days away from signing with Michigan but for some "unexplained" reason they have a last minute change of heart and Alabama or Clemson or Auburn or Mississippi whatever looks better now. Our Basketball team on a horribly bad call, a clean block where the ball was "pinned to the backboard" loses to one of the dirtiest Pitino teams ever. Its really easy to get a cranky sports disposition. I get it sometimes too.
Finally we get "the break we needed" and in comes Jim Harbaugh. The Hero. The Savior. And what appeared to be "now its our turn" has turned into, "insert various crazy fan threads" and "Oh crap this is going to take longer than I expected."
Not trying to fix the world here, not trying to spank the bad posters out there, just remember, sports are SUPPOSE TO BE FUN. It's going to take a while longer than we expected or wanted. We will get our turn. And when when we do it will be glorious, BUT IN THE MEANTIME, try to find some fun bits in there, its not all or nothing, or at least it shouldn't be, if it's not fun at all, ever,.........yikes.
