... about us fans.
I don't know Jim Harbaugh from anybody. Never met him before. Went to school with him at U of M, but that's as far as that goes. But there are 2 things about him that I am 100% positive of:
1) Having devoted his life to the game non-stop since he was very young and with the track record he's displayed over the past 40 years, he knows more about football than any 10 people on this board added up. And he knows more about this team than the entire board added up. And,
2) He needs his next win in a college football game almost more than I need air to breathe. Seriously. He's mega-ultra-hyper-competitive. He doesn't want to win, he MUST win.
In light of those 2 facts, I think I'm going to go ahead and let him decide who plays QB, and every other position on the team, and cheer my ass off for those who've given their all to be in a position to play for my school. And once in a while those kids will fall short. And I will be there the next week rooting my ass off for them again.
I truly think some would be more happy to see us lose a game, and have certain kids fail, so that then they can come on here and write about how they just know better than our coach does. They can see plainly with their own 2 eyes what our staff with decades and decades of experience cannot see. This will make them feel better(??).
That I will never get.
At the end of the day it's a game. Trust me I want to win as badly as any of us on this board. I've lived through a lot of heartache in my 50 years + of being a fan, student and supporter of Michigan athletics. But this isn't life or death for me. Those kids give more than most of us will ever realize. They deserve our support, our fandom. They don't deserve criticism for not being perfect, or even the best in the nation at their position every single Saturday.
