1. Dantonio really knows how to motivate his team to beat UM. It's like losing to UM is a crime against humanity. Good coaching.
2. Speight was very good today. Best game he has played at UM and it was a big game on the road. UM can clearly win with him at qb as long as he has a running game and protection.
3. Stribling. I would go crazy in the film room on Stribling for that tackle attempt on Scott. Really changed the course of the end of the game.
4. Run game. Smith...power here and there then some Isaac and then our 1st stringer later.
Higdon is better than Evans. Evans is a nice player but not an every down Big Ten back.
5. I thought that first drive by MSU was a warning sign to Brown going forward. At the end of the day you have to by physical in the Big Ten and the blitz comes later. Stop the run should be primary while playing Big Ten teams and you need to recruit strength and toughness first and then speed.
Guys like Peppers can/will be exploited by power teams...see Alabama.
6. Peppers is our 2nd string qb.
7. Morris should not have been on that 3rd down conversion attempt. No need for Morris but something tells me Harbaugh is setting up a deep ball.
8. Is Harris going to make contributions going forward? Has he caught more than 2 passes in his career? Love his speed. I think he really makes an impact next year....finally.
9. Looked like MSU went back to what has made them successful. Hope Scott goes pro one of these days because that guy is a load. MSU is better than given credit for on offense but their defense is their big problem. Actually think they are in a rebuilding phase that will take a year or so. MSU will be back but when you lose 6 games in a row..it's not a fluke. Not saying MSU will be 6-6 next year but they have some work to do.
10. I thought UM actually played relatively well (especially on offense) but when I look at the defense...you can exploit the safeties in pass coverage. This defense is built to stop a spread running attack more than a spread pass attack. After you get past Lewis and Stribling...you have Gedeon, Thomas and Peppers in coverage.
