Was at the game yesterday. Yesterday was a perfect day on so many fronts, but what stood out to me was where I think we are in Year 4 and that is after getting a look at 78 players who participated yesterday. First, anyone who doesn’t believe JJH knows what he’s doing needs to reconsider. I’m very excited with where the roster is currently and where it’s going. For the first time in too long, Michigan has very good football players throughout the roster. I was uncertain of our running back depth. It’s coming. We are a lot deeper at that position. I really like Turner, Samuels is gaining confidence, and with the addition of Charbonnet, we are in good shape. Everyone will acknowledge the QB position is in very good shape currently and in the future, same for the wide receivers and TEs. As for the offensive line, Doug Skene knows better than me, but I saw something yesterday in the first, second and third string units that I have not seen from our units in a long time. . . CONFIDENCE! It just seems like the kids have such a better handle on what needs to be done. The technique is improving each week. The pockets our QBs had to make throws yesterday had a Michigan vintage look. As JJH puts it, this unit is ascending. We’re building depth at this position. The defensive line is going to be strong year in and year out. We’re in great shape throughout the defense.

We can’t change the ND result. We looked like a tentative bunch that first week. But, it is fun watching this team come together. Yesterday’s postgame comments reminds me a little bit of 2015, Jim knows he’s got something with this group (more talented than ‘15, with higher ceiling). With the trajectory I’m seeing, I’m going to channel my Norman Dale, from this point forward—WE ARE GOING TO BE A TOUGH TEAM TO BEAT.
