1. Alabama. Dang. They just stop the run with that DL and then drop safeties (cover 2) and just play the pass. Their DL and lb'ers are physical and fast. Whole different level than anyone else on defense. It was amazing to see them just wear USC down although the Trojans are still trying to rebuild depth.

2. Noticed with the LSU/Wiscy and UCLA/A&M game that qb's need to avoid the big mistake on the road. I wish UM had a tougher road game before MSU than Rutgers.

3. Evans does remind me a little (style wise) of Tony Dorsett. Not the biggest guy but sort of glides. Not trying to hit the defender but never give a clean shot at him. Shifty. I watched some of his runs and he is not an easy target to tackle. His size and quickness allows him to get through the seams. Cagey.

4. Lost in the easy game was I thought Isaac was very impressive. Looks like he runs hard like Smith but has a little more wiggle.

Re. #4, Isaac definitely has decided he is going to run with more purpose and take on a hit.

Competition forces all these guys to push themselves because what they want and love to do is play football. Don't blame them at all but competition forces you to do what the coaches ask you to do or you will not play.

Who said that the biggest motivator is the bench?
