I do not post often, but spend too much time on the Fort. I watch every game on TV and have done so for the past 40 years. A couple of thoughts:
1. If my memory is correct, we have not always played our best after a by week. I was talking to an avid Alabama fan and he said that this is true with his team. I wonder if this is a trend in general.
2. Alabama had a losing record in Saban's first year and lost 2 games in this second year (He did win a national championship in year 3). Sometimes it takes time to build the kind of team we are hoping for.
3. Saban has done all he has done without a 5 star quarterback starter according to the knowledgeable fan I spoke with (but his line of course had lots of 5 stars)
