In reading the list of 25 best players since 1997, I am expectant that Mason is not going to be on the list. I find this somewhat baffling. In my opinion, he is going to be remembered 15 years from now as an all-time Michigan great.

He came here as a freshman when our program was down -- very down. He was highly recruited by all of the SEC programs and by the Florida schools. He chose Michigan (thankfully his parents grew up in Illinois).

He has started every game for us since he arrived. He is on a pace to start more games than any other Wolverine in history.

He has anchored a line that turned things around. There have been very few complaints about the left side of our line the past three years...

His footwork and speed have allowed him to play out of position for three of his four years. He is likely be be an interior lineman at the next level. Yet he has played left tackle very well for us in three of his four years here.

He came back for his senior year to anchor the line and lead the team. He would have been a second or third round pick last year according to his agent.

Yes my little brother was a coach on his East Lake team in high school, so I admit my bias. That said, I am giving a huge shout out to Mason. He is one of the key players in the Harbaugh turnaround. I look forward to him being a captain on our Big Ten winning season this year!
