Obviously the mods here can’t use the other sites, so I put a little something together to evaluate the class. I’m not trying to promote other sites, just pointing out other opinions and data.

Here are some findings....

Rivals has us at #9, 247 Composite has us at #8, ESPN has us at #4. The average has us tied at #7 with Oklahoma. Penn St is #10, ND is #11 and Ohio State is #14 (only #21 on rivals with the small class). Obviously things can still change a little, but that’s about where we are in general...and it’s a notch below Bama (1), Georgia (2), and Clemson (5). Ohio State has been consistently in the top 3, so hopefully this year is a trend with the coaching change and the talent levels should become more comparable (OSU was the most talented team in 2018 according to 247 Team Talent, we were #8).

20 of our 27 commits were considered at least 4 star on at least one service....
On Rivals we had 10 of the top 250.
On 247 we had 13 of the top 300.
On 247 composite we had 12 of the top 300.
ESPN has 14 of the top 300.

Of the 4 stars, ESPN has 8 of our prospects rated the highest...Idk how much Lemming is still involved, but he has always seemed to favor the Midwest and it seems to continue. They really like Mazi Smith and have him at #38 in the country and are the only service to recognize Sainristil and Turner as 4 stars. They also have Solomon at #83. The other prospects highest on ESPN are HInton at 42 (Rivals has him at 43), Trent Jones at #155, Cade McNamara at #257 and Charles Thomas at #295.

247 has the highest rating for 7 prospects. They’ve got Cornelius Johnson at #185 overall. Dax Hill is #7, Zach Charbonnet is #26, Giles Jackson is #225, David Ojabo is #208, Karsen Barnhart is #247 and Erik All is #247.

Rivals has 4 of the highest ratings, has Jalen Perry the highest at #170 overall and the highest rating for Quentin Johnson at 237. They are also slightly higher on Rumler at #141 and rates Mike Morris a 5.8 4 star (he’s also a 4 star on ESPN).

One guy, Trevor Keegan, is highest rated in the composite at #163...his non-composite ratings are #168, #173 and #208.

The non-4 stars??? Still have some pretty solid prospects with Carpenter, Stewart, Newburg, George Johnson, Quintel Kent, Velazquez and Pesek-Hickson coming in with a little chip on their shoulders.
