I have just been told that Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal weakside defensive end Luiji Vilain will be visiting Michigan with his coach this weekend.
The 6-4, 240-pound four-star prospect has a national offer list that includes Alabama, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Nebraska, North Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin among others. Vilain is originally from Canada so he doesn't have an allegiance when it comes to schools that he grew up liking, but a fellow Canadian and friend of his, Patrice Rene, is an early-enrolled freshman at North Carolina.
Vilain is considered the No. 5 weakside defensive end and No. 89 overall prospect nationally. He's also the No. 4 player in Virginia. Vilain's teammate, Jonathan Sutherland, also has a Michigan offer but it doesn't look like he'll come with Vilain to check out U-M.
Recent Kentucky decommit, Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic four-star strongside defensive end James Hudson, will also be on campus this weekend making for a solid defensive line tandem touring Ann Arbor. Hudson had been committed to the Wildcats for 10 months but just yesterday decided that he'd open things back up.
Hudson had been visiting other schools and this spring saw his offer list increase to 16 schools, with Alabama and Miami being among the most recent additions. Michigan has not offered yet, and the visit to Ann Arbor was planned before he announced his de-commitment. A solid trip could easily result in a tender from the Maize and Blue.
