So what does Urban do now?

I don't think he does anything with Elliott.

I think the bigger questions is what does the team do? Do they rally around each other for a huge rivalry game with a Big Ten title and playoff berth still potentially at stake, or do they fold like a cheap suit? Pat Forde's (Yahoo Sports) take was spot on - OSU went from dynasty to dysfunction in about four hours Saturday.

Meyer ain't going to do squat.

Hey CG. What did you think about the OSU play calling on Saturday. Just curious on your opinion...regardless of your views.

I was amazed at the play calling, frankly. I think it was arrogance on behalf of Meyer. The OSU passing game has been inconsistent all year, but still...

But in looking at the numbers, OSU was actually remarkably consistent:
- they ran 12 times with Elliott, gaining 2.8 yards per play.
- they ran 15 times with Barrett, gaining 2.9 yards per play
- the passed the ball 16 times, gaining 2.9 yards per play

The real problem was they weren't effective or consistent in doing anything, only running 45 offensive plays and having more 3 and out "drives" than first downs, and their defense was gassed at the end.

Couldn't agree more.

Here is another thing we can agree on. MSU takes advantage of flubs (UM) and bad coaching and they deserve all the credit for taking advantage of less than astute coaching on the part of OSU.

Not the fault of MSU because their opponents either mess up or have bad game plans. Coaching is part of winning and losing. UM was fortunate to run up against bad coaching at Minny or even at IU when they called a pass play on 4th down.

Want to know why MSU wins...just look at their head coach. He makes mistakes on occasion but his teams are well coached and have good game plans. OSU never made the adjustments during the 2nd half and played right into the hands of a team without their starting qb. OSU deserved to lose and MSU deserved to win. Each program got exactly what they deserved.

Here's the ironic thing - Meyer had been saying all week that the most prepared team winning Saturday's game - he said it in his press conference (see article below), he had signs saying it in the football facilities, and he even said it on College Gameday. Well, he was right!

It also didn't hurt that MSU was the healthiest they've been (particularly with their DBs and OL) since the Oregon game.
