like Fournette are being exploited relative to the universities who make all this money off them, etc.

I like Michael Smith but his perspective is flawed. Here is the basic problem. Fournette may be getting exploited but what about the other players on the team who never make the NFL. Are they being exploited? I want to hear about the 2nd or 3rd team guy on the team.

Do they feel exploited? Here is a question I would like asked to every college football player. It would go something like this...

You are now 30 years old. If you could, right now as a single person and healthy, go back to college and play football for 4 years on a scholarship with all the responsibilities as a student?

Something tells me that these people would go right back and be exploited again. Is that really the true definition of exploitation?

Your italicized statement sounds like a line from Braveheart. I wholeheartedly agree, there is no exploitation in college football, getting a degree from a first-rate school, national exposure, lifetime of opportunity as a football alumnus, etc. are worth a great deal. I'd give much to have back an opportunity to walk on to UM's football team, let alone play with a scholarship.

I have not heard of a single instance of a player signing a LOI at gunpoint.
