Had a domestic violence (w girlfriend, I believe) issue brushed under the rug last year. Last night he was released to Cardale Jones who it appears was with him. Haa!

And on another note, it looks like ND recruiting visits seem to have taken an interesting turn. Pretty embarrassing for the Catholic University that they are to have sexual misconduct running rampant like that.
There's is some stuff that is circulating out there about trying to set up girls (or a girl) with players, and one player involved filed a complaint because it was going too far. Odd story...but it seems to possibly involve an employee at the university and their daughter being forced on a player (players?). First heard it last night.
So does JT sit out 2 weeks of practice as well? Cardell is back in business. The kid is ordained to lead them . "74

Just FTR, .08 and you are TOAST no excuses, ifs, ands, buts ...... and you can still get an OVI for lower than .08 if judged to be impaired even at .04, for example.
I got pulled over with a .77 and I had to do everything under the sun to not get an OVI, including having a judge vouch for me, and still got an alcohol related 4 pt violation. Judges are afraid of MADD digging into their records at election time, and posting billboards.
This all said, JT broke the law and should get punished. Love JT but hope Cardale seizes the opportunity, recaptures the magic after sitting/watching/learning last game, and plays his way back into the 1st round!!! .... and then JT KILLS it for 2 more years afterwards.
He hit a check point, and was .081, and also 20 so under age. At least tOSU, the cops, and local media really polices this stuff unlike FSU and the SEC, and some others. Not that we are perfect though, we're not, but it is tough to sweep things under the carpet in Columbus .....

Was watching coverage of this story on the Deuce this morning while working out. They were covering the brewing controversy over whether this is supposed to be a two game suspension. Convenient for TUOS that this is their bye week ... will be interesting to see how this is played out, and whether Urban will be required to increase the one game suspension he issued to two.
Don't know how this is going to actually play out, but he is already suspended for at least next week's game. I think that will be the extent of it though. One game would coincide with past precedent, and the mundane version, relatively speaking .... he wasn't swerving, fighting, disorderly or overly intoxicated, ran into a check point minding his own business at a relatively low bac level. This is usually a one-game deal almost everywhere except FSU & SEC where the team votes whether to punish or not, lol
....... many think he will lose his Captain status also though, which is significant to JT, and also historic as he was tracking to be the first 3 time captain. That was the biggest joke at the time. And yet somehow some homer idiots tried to pass it off as strict.
Hey 74 hope you're doing well bud! I think JT will be back as the starter for Illinois, and going forward barring injury. He just runs the offense too well. Cardale had his chance to win it back but I don't think he did, although he was not awful or anything. The playrs look up to JT in addition to his "read" abilities, and JT has a lot more options/repsoposibilities at the LOS due to the coaches' trust in him.
And lastly, as far as OMVI's go this was pretty mild. Low bac of .08, check point oriented and not due to an accident or swerving around, and he has handled himself very well in his time at tOSU and now. Apparently, Urban brought him down from the press box to address the team at half time, I think that says quite a lot ..... Urban loves bot Cardale and JT ..... BUT, he L-O-V-E-S JT Barrett ...... and so do the players.
I would bet the Ponderosa that JT is the starter going forward? JMHO though.
I don't wish any ill will on the young man. Made a mistake and it's pretty minor in the scheme of things. That bac is pretty low...sorry MADD.
I am not looking to punish any young man that is not proportionate to the mistake. That being said...I would like to know exactly what this summer scholarship removal means. Can you help me out Laser? Does it mean he gets one less donut for breakfast? I understand what losing the captain status may mean or a game suspension for that matter.

The additional rumor is that he was driving a tricked out vehicle with dealer plates. Just wonder is he was in one of those 24 hour test drives I see on the commercials. Driving a gift ride on a dealers books cannot be good. I do not see much in the press about the ride.
Because that wasn't the case. It was an older vehicle with Texas plates which is where the kid is from if I recall correctly.
