Looks like our 3rd down success (even against these 2 cream puffs) is barely mediocre, and our run defense is indeed mediocre by NCAA standards.
There is a balance there, in that our two opponents were truly awful on both sides of the ball (they just were), but then, our 2nd and 3rd string were in a significant amount of time.
Again though, if we are straining to look for something, early on, to tighten down on, it might be to improve our NCAA D-1 rankings in 3rd down efficiency and on run defense.
