So I peeked at the list. We were # 100 over all, and #14 in BT.

Now with these 3 men we are #71 and there are 6 BT teams from # 50-60 next. Yes I know , but do believe there is time left and baby steps to get the class of 2015 done correctly. "I think we can, I think we can, I know we can! "

it's all about the size of this class...

without signing all 5*'s, this class wasn't going to be ranked super high. Classes are ranked on total points, so the less commits we have, the less total points we have, so it makes sense that with 6 guys we were low. Let JH fill this class out and we'll end up in a decent spot.

If they sorted by average star ranking we'd be higher, so it's not that the guys we have committed aren't good, we just don't have many commits.

This class may not be highly ranked when it is all said and done due to Harbauch getting a late start, but your cupboard isnt bare. In addition, Harbaugh will have a top ten recruiting class next year. Your team will be fine.

ranked #21 based on avg stars.....

and that includes a kicker which will have a much bigger impact on a smaller class.

overall, UM isn't going to crack the top 40 based on rivals ratings. we simply don't have enough scholarships to offer and JH has been recruiting the 2015 class for 3 weeks. 2016 will be the real gauge.

These services base rankings on the Top 20 guys - understanding that quality is as (or more) important than quantity. Also - the SEC takes six or seven more kids per school than BIG 10 schools (or the other conferences) are allowed to take so - by using the 20 highest ranked prospects to judge lasses - you get a fairer snapshot.

But - yes - when a class only has 15 guys - unless they are all four and five star guys - like the USC class was several years ago - it's hard to break into the Top 20 classes.
