After the game I didn't think our team was Big 10 championship material. After watching OSU and getting some sleep, I still think we can win the B1G but I do not believe we are National Championship contenders. Not with this o-line and QB.
My concern is our D is going to get rundown by the end of the year, always having to keep us in close games. To finish the season Wisc and then OSU... that's a tough task. I want to say, if we win at Wisc, we lose the next one at home. If we lose at Wisc, we beat OSU.
Obviously a lot of football to go and these kids will get coached up. If the o-line gets to 7/10 we'd be fine. I think Speight is what he is and that is average to above average at times, not more. Team can win with that but not when o-line is average to below average at the same time.
Can't wait to see how they respond next week... will be a very telling / statement game.
