Is there another description for what seems to happen to Juwan Howard? After the upcoming NBA draft, he’ll have lost nine players to the NBA since the 2019 draft, all but one of them left after starting only one year for Michigan. All of them are playing in the NBA. The latest two losses are both projected by ESPN as lottery picks or very close. Add in his two-year leading scorer who decided to cash-in and transfer for a contract reported to be worth $2-3 million.

He seems to be a great recruiter and developer of talent, who just can’t seem to get his players to hang around for more than 1-2 years, long enough to win very much in the Big Ten or the NCAA Tournament. Is there another coach who has put as many players into the League in such a short time?

What’s the answer?
