Just went to the brewery today here in NC. Unbelievable facility. Hop Hunter is the bomb. They also have a few beers on tap at the brewery that are not massed produced. We ride mountain bikes and then cruise into the brewery for a little refreshment. Excellent.

Bamatide?? We need to hook up at the brewery as Michigan fans. Asheville is my second home and I was just at the brewery 2 weeks ago myself. Come on down to Charleston as we have some great local brews as well. I got mad at Highland this year for not putting out enough Cold Mountain. Their marketing strategy is going to kill them with New Belgium moving in and Sierra Nevada in Hendersonville. Sierra Nevada's brewery in NC is the Cadillac of all breweries.

My parents were there a few weeks ago, they said it was great. They said something about them building a bar or something down by the water I think? We're heading there this spring, can't wait.

They are building an amphitheater for music next to the French Broad River and are installing a landing for kayaks, canoes, etc. to dock in the summer. It will also include a bar area and amphitheater to welcome the River Rats with live music and libations. I saw the plans for the second phase, it is going to be awesome. I have to say my favorite beer in Asheville is Wicked Weed's - Freak of Nature Double IPA. SCFanBlue, sounds good to me, I need someone to bash the Buckeyes with up here. As much as I love Sierra Nevada, and it is the Ferrari of brewing establishments, there are several great brewery's in the Asheville area. Yes, go to this link for all the info http://ashevillealetrail.com.

My wife is from Weaverville and all our families live in Asheville, Weaverville, and Burnsville. I remember when Highland was in the basement at Barley's Pizza in the 90's. I love Devil's Britches IPA. My best friend lives in Swannanoa and we head to Sierra Nevada every time I am up there to fill our growlers. I agree about Wicked Weed, however, I also like French Broad's IPA as well. Super tasty. If you get a chance to get to Charleston then try Westbrook's Rye Pale Ale and IPA. We should have a Michigan fan get together some time. It would be great to meet you guys. Since you are a Bama fan, I personally know Kirby Smart from his days as the RB coach at Georgia. He recruited several of our kids when I coached at Bamberg-Ehrhardt most notably Ricky Sapp and Dequan Bowers who wound up at Clemson under Tommy Bowden. Kirby is a great guy and I think he will kill it at Georgia since he is from there, played there, and will dominate the state in recruiting. Georgia high school football is awesome.
