As I wrote before had my second shot ( Moderna) on Tuesday. As we know the responses to the second shot have been noted as a wide range from none to incapacitating for one or two days. Well mine were the latter. On Wednesday my injection side was extremely sore with almost no range of motion. Had what seemed to be neurological pain running down the left arm. Extreme fatigue the other major symptom. Napped about 5 times through the day.
Day two was better and worse. Woke up with a lack of symptoms. Shoulder and arm symptoms almost non existent. Had some energy. Late in the afternoon started having a headache that focused on both temporal areas above each ear. Pain was a 9 1/2 on a 10 point scale. Was not but I had thoughts of a cluster headache I have seen and treated in patients. Lasted about 8 hours. Also involved was the trigeminal nerve. Have had issues with neuralgia with it before.
Today only feeling is gratitude for the creation of the vaccine and the logistics that got it in my arm. Will admit there is a sense relief that I have that protection in my body and can go play golf and see grand kids with confidence I am non contagious and more protected from them. It certainly is worth the side effects that are only showing that my body reacts this way to the virus and I am fortunate that it did so under somewhat controlled circumstances.
