1. Out of the 108 players Harbaugh brought in at Stanford, 58 went to the league.
2. NONE of those players were 5-stars. NONE.
3. You think Harbaugh cares about recruiting service rankings and stars?
4. Josh Metellus was ranked lower than Schoonmaker... Started against FSU in a major bowl game as a FR and played well. I'll even throw in Dwumfour and Spanellis as well. They have both gotten great reviews thus far from what I have heard.. and both were ranked lower as well.
5. Guys like Richard Sherman (6-3) and Coby Fleener (another 6-6 TE) were ranked lower than Schoonmaker. 2 examples out of a sea of others, but Harbaugh very clearly loves length for WR, TE, and CB.
Stop star gazing. The NFL is littered the FCS players, NAIA, D2, and even D3 players. Ranking high school players across the country is a VERY inexact science. These kids are still growing/developing. They all play against completely different levels of competition. Some of them are what I like to call "camp warriors" or great "practice players" more than they are gamers. Tons of these kids completely slip through the cracks or simply get passed by their overrated peers. Beyond football stuff, many factors come into play that have nothing to do with football.
Recruiting is fluid. For all we know, some of these guys never even make it to AA due to unforeseen circumstances. Can we please all chill and let things play out before we continuously bring up OSU's recruiting classes? I see them mentioned in literally every single recruiting thread.. I couldn't care less who Urban is bringing in. He was embarrassed by Clemson in the playoffs last year and couldn't win it all with one of the most talented teams I have seen 2 years ago.. Harbaugh has a track record of bringing in lower ranked kids, developing them, finding the diamonds in the rough, and WINNING. He knows what he is looking for. Until he is proven wrong, stop complaining and fretting.
