The obvious reason to why we can win a Big ten championship.
I dont want to come across like im not extremely happy with what hes done for this team this year, he has been great. However, he could even take his play to another level.
Cool thing is I have been working for Pro Football Focus and I get all the games videos etc.. so I get to go back and watch all of our games and for 2 games I got an all 22 game replay.
Shea might be one of the best ive seen at the RPO, as in his head fakes, the way he hides the ball etc, im glad he doesnt pull it that much when running the RPO, because when he does it usually surprises teams and he runs for a key 1st down or long run because of it.
Anyways to the part that he can improve. While he has been very careful with the ball making great decisions, I feel hes been too careful at times. He has been holding the ball way too long at times. I dont know if its because harbaugh and Pep is wanting him to be that careful, but I believe he should take some more chances at times.
I dont mean like throw into tight windows/double coverage type chances I mean when Nico or DPJ have 1 on 1 coverage and there is no safety help, throw it and give them a chance to make a play, as I would trust them (Nico, DPJ and now Tarik Black) over any corner on any team.
Vs MSU he missed at least 1 TD to DPJ in the endzone missed a couple more big passes, it was raining/sleeting during that time so I wont count those but I really hope he starts getting rid of the ball more/quicker. This offense has a chance to be elite imo, with how well the running game is and with 3 WR’s that could start anywhere in the nation with good TE’s, the sky is the limit. You can tell hes being really conservative with the ball, while thats smart with how great our Defense is playing, there isnt as much of a need to take that many chances right now.
However, when we play OSU maybe PSU, we’ll need to take some chances etc by giving our great WR’s a chance to make plays when being covered 1 on 1, and we’ll definitely need that if we make it to the playoffs playing against Clemson and Alabama.
However, in saying all of that so happy hes our QB and cant wait for the rest of the season to play out, but still sad that the season is almost over. Here’s to hoping we have 7 games left!!!
Go Blue!
