Sharpening The Edge might as well be the newest ride at Cedar Point because we have been riding a roller coaster these past three days.

After going 0-4 on Sunday and 3-0 on Monday, we again went 0-4 on Tuesday.

You just hate to see it.

But 3-8 still leaves us a good margin above the money. We’ve been far more hot than cold. These things happen.

When the picks switched to daily, I found myself picking games with less of a strong edge than I had been prior.

I’m not going to be lenient with my picks anymore, I’m going to tighten the system a bit.

This may mean less picks but it’ll hopefully mean more wins, too. Some days there could be six picks I love, though, so who knows?

Anyway, as we always say: onward.

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means.

NBA

Game
: BOS @ IND, 7:00PM
Edges: This one has some of the strongest signals of the day. Marcus Smart is out. The line has swung from BOS -3.5 to IND -1. That’s a monumental swing, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see it close higher. I’d grab this ASAP. 96-percent of the money is on IND despite having 41-percent of bets. With the news of Smart and the cash on IND coming from sharps, Vegas swung the line. I’m taking IND at home to cover.
Pick: IND -1

NCAAB:

Game: LSU @ FLA, 7:00PM
Edges: The line took a significant switch from LSU being favored by 2.5 points on the road to Florida being favored by 3 points at home. That comes after a strong wave of sharp money came in on the Gators. Florida is coming off of two losses, while LSU has won two out of its last three against tough opponents; beating Tennessee & Kentucky, but losing to Auburn. It’s been a gauntlet for LSU and traveling to Gainesville might be too much. Really, I’m relying on the signals and paying attention to the line’s movement in picking FLA.
Pick: FLA -3

Game: DUQ @ FOR, 7:00PM
Edges: These teams tend to hit the over. According to Covers.com, the over is 8-2 in DUQ’s last 10 games and 8-5 overall for Fordham. The over is 7-0 in DUQ’s last seven Wednesday games. Additionally, the over is Over is 10-2 in Dukes last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. And lastly, the over is 4-1 in Fordham’s last five games as an underdog. What’s more is that the over is getting 89-percent of the cash flow compared to 56-percent of bets. That’s due to strong sharp money coming in, which moved the line from 133.5 to 136.5.
Pick: o136.5
