If you were an NFL GM, would you hire Jim Harbaugh to be your head coach?
Let me start off by saying while this season clearly isn't what we hoped it would be, I still think Harbaugh is an elite coach. IMO, the only thing preventing Michigan from being a big ten championship contender right now is the stubbornness of the coaching staff - I imagine that'll change before next season.
The NFL is typically thought of as the pinnacle of football coaching. While Harbaugh had a lot of success in the NFL, his questionable play calling and inability to find a good QB could cause some to say he's been "unsuccessful" at Michigan. Since "unsuccessful" college coaches aren't generally hired to coach NFL teams, would an NFL team actually look to pry Harbaugh from Michigan at this point? If the answer is no, that probably increases the odds that he's Michigan's coach long term.
