At what point do the major conferences, especially the Big10 and SEC do away with non-conference games? The networks that pay out huge sums of money cannot be excited by most non-conference matchups that involve group of 5 or even FCS teams. Trying to pick playoff teams when you will only play around 70% of your conference is challenging as some protected rivalries ensure a disadvantage for those teams as they will always have a strong opponent that never cycles out. I would love to see the Big 10, Big 12 and SEC go to a 10 conference game minimum schedule. This will also squeeze the vise a little tighter on ND and force them into a conference for FB.
