One of the early designated party boys, he enjoyed life. Played well in defensive roles as well as offense (quarterback, punt and kickoff returns; punter, at N.D.). He is still THEE only Heisman Trophy winner from a LOSING TEAM ! ND was 3-9.
I saw his Heisman Trophy displayed at Lambeau Field (inside the stadium on permanent loan).
I will remember him well.
