PSU schemed the hell out of Michigan as most people saw. Bush was fooled on numerous occasions with the zone read options that were ran by PSU. Not Don Brown's best game but he will put it in his memory bank and learn from it, I'm confident of that. I think OSU will see a totally different defense than what PSU saw on Saturday. I still have some hope for that game. McSorley also made some phenomenal throws in man coverage where the coverage wasn't even that bad (McCray on Barkley not withstanding). I don't see Barrett making those throws.
Offensively I was actually encouraged by some of the things O'Korn did and Michigan did run some wrinkles that didn't work nearly as well as PSU's wrinkles. We mixed in some Zone-Read Option stuff with O'Korn. The McDoom play was nice. Still WAY TOO MANY poor route choices/play calls when down-distance is considered. O'Korn is still a one read and run guy but that worked at times on Saturday for some positive yardage. Most upset with the O-Line Play Saturday. It wasn't the performance we had against IU.
This team isn't nearly as bad as it showed on Saturday. I actually felt better after re-watching the game. This Offense is still average to below at best currently. However, I think Harbaugh is installing what he thinks will work long term which is a very complex Offensive scheme with multiple formations/options out of those formations. I think he's discouraged but not distraught over the fact that things aren't being picked up quicker. I do think the play-calling out of this offense has been bad but I'm not sure the offense itself is something that won't work in the future. I also think John O'Korn is the wrong QB for this type of offense. Not sure Speight is the best QB either. Harbaugh needs a top notch QB to make an offense like this hum or he needs to dumb it down a little IMO to make it more effective as things stand currently.
