You can't announce an extension for Harbaugh at the same time you let go of your assistant coaches.
1. Harbaugh extension announced after the season would be typical.
2. Announce assistant coaches leaving
3. No gain to do this the before season over (typically)
Only reason to do this is to make sure commitments don't look around due to early signing day.
I say, play though this week. If season done then Harbaugh extension (lower salary ((~5mill)) with heavy incentives) this week then assistant coaches moving on the following after two weeks. Assistants move on AFTER signing day.
