Anyone that's calling for Jim Harbaugh to be on the hot seat, saying he's overrated, etc., is an idiot - emotional and completely short-sighted. Plain and simple. Michigan football was a barren wasteland for almost a decade before he arrived. The guy loves Michigan, was a starting QB here, understands the tradition and the institution and the mentality of the fan-base. He's won on every level, and he's made the adjustments necessary to win. There is no other living coach that is a better fit for Michigan.

There is a cohort of the Michigan fan-base that expects immediate results because of some odd sense of entitlement (I can be one of those people at times) - I challenge these people to think through where we would be without Jim. Be careful what you wish for - who knows, one day Jimmy could decide he's just 'not feeling the love' (as he stated he felt during the 2010 coaching search) and decide to go back to the NFL. I'm well aware of what he's getting paid - regardless, we are lucky to have him. He has completely revived the program. Sure, our offense isn't executing this year, the o-line is really young / has gaps in it, we don't have a stud QB (and are playing with our back-up now) or a bell-cow RB, etc. We also have a championship defense and a pretty solid special teams. We are deficient in one phase at the moment, but that will get fixed up. It may not get fixed this year, but Jim will diagnose the issue and make every attempt to fix it. In-season, that means putting our players in a better position to win. Off-season, I have full trust that he will evaluate his staff and make the necessary changes to field a respectable offense.

It will be important for Michigan to do what it can to make sure Don Brown stays here as long as possible. It's equally important that we train a potential replacement for Don if he ever decides to move on / retire. Guy is worth his weight in gold. What an amazing hire. And guess what, that was all Jim.
