I've seen a few posts where folks don't understand why recruits aren't falling in our lap after Saturday or why a certain kid decided not to choose UM. It seems there are some who believe we should win every recruiting battle we get into and, if we don't, they seem to believe we did something wrong.

The reality is that every program loses recruiting battles. Sure, some more than others but when I look at the OSU's reported numbers for offers and commits for 2021 and 2022 (to date), you'll find that they gave out 281 offers and had 39 commits. That's a 14% yield.

Ok...now some are saying "well, gee, many of those offers weren't real"..."yeah, but they got everyone they really wanted". Well, none of us were in the room when it happened but I'm sure they lost out. They may hand out offers they never intend to accept but I doubt it's a huge number.

My suggestion....stop focusing on what we don't have...or don't get. Focus on what we do have. Oh...and let's give our staff some credit that they may know what they're doing. I think they deserve it.
