Some perspective on Harbaugh and the Program
Flamers: For those who have made up their minds, this will not be comforting, and they will flame this post. I expect it. Flame away.
Thesis: Mediocre and crumbling teams cannot perform at a high level against top competition.
Three Out of Four
In a little over one year, Michigan has played three of the four teams in the 2021 college football playoffs
That by itself is something I think no other program can claim.
Just over a year ago Michigan lost to OSU 56 to 27
A terrible outcome and terrible record over the last 15 years..no question
AND
just over a year ago vs Notre Dame
Michigan thrashed Notre Dame on national TV. Leading 45 to 7 before giving up a meaningless TD late Winning 45-14
In the last two years only Clemson and Louisville held ND to a lower point total than we did on that day.
Less than one year ago, a heathy Michigan team played Alabama
Michigan led Alabama at halftime 16 - 14 on a sunny dry field in Florida
Ultimately losing 35 - 14
In the last two years no team has held Alabama to a lower point total than Michigan did
Outlook
I will not pretend that everything is sunny in Ann Arbor. Its not
This program is not far from being a top 10 program again.
Jim Harbaugh believes this or he would not be coming back
I think it could happen in 2021
NOTE: I know if you have already made up your mind you will not be influenced by this information
You will share the detail of losses to MSU, Wisconsin and others. I get it.
Prediction: With Jim Harbaugh leading this program I believe that we can be a top 10 team in 2021.
Am I wrong?
