So I live in Ohio with all of these Ohio State fans . Drives me crazy. My brother lives across the street from me and is of course a Suckeye fan. He approaches my 12 year old son in a joking manner and says when he goes back to get his braces swapped out , if he will change the colors to scarlet and grey, that he will give him $50. My son is a Michigan fan as we all are in my immediate family .
Never did I think he would do this.
I walk in the door from a horrible day at work and my wife and son inform me that he did it and will be getting $50. As they are laughing, I'm in disbelief. I used it as a life lesson teaching moment to inform him that his allegiance can not be bought and this reflects poorly on his character . My wife tells me lighten up but I'm just so disappointed in him. I asked him if he would turn his back on his religion for the right sum of money . I guess I just don't see it as a joke as much as they do . I'm sure everyone will tell me to lighten up and maybe you are right . Just in disbelief.
