If Jim Harbaugh is retained as many insiders/people in the know have said, then all of these wish list posts on potential head coaches is a waste of time. The question is, how do you fix the defense quickly? Of course, it starts at the top and so I believe Don Brown has to be replaced. So who do we get to replace him? Please don't insult us with a Brent Vanables post because he isn't leaving Clemson for Michigan. The top of my list is 1A) Kane Wommack - Indiana Defensive Coordinator and 1B) Chris Partridge - Mississippi State Co-Defensive Coordinators. They are both fiery/energetic young coordinators who would dramatically change the dynamics of the defensive locker room. They also both coach linebackers and our linebacker play both inside and outside has been pathetic this year. I believe we are able to make them a salary package which would get them to move to Michigan. Next I would give them the financial freedom to go out and hire the most dynamic defensive line coach available. I would also expect them to recruit true defensive tackles and stop trying to get by with defensive ends playing out of position. In the defensive backfield I would look for coaches comfortable in coaching both zone and MTM and not stubbornly run press MTM coverage with average corner back talent. Well, I feel better getting that off my chest and I want to see this get turned around as realistically/quickly as possible. Go Blue!
